ABOUT US
AISLE STYLE. LOCAL LOVE.
Utah Bride & Groom magazine was born from a popular section of Salt Lake magazine 10+ years ago. And along with our other sister publication, Utah Style & Design magazine, our focus is hyper-local. The entire team is entrenched in the Utah scene investigating Utah's best cuisine, fashion, interior design, art, entertainment and special events.
For more than a decade, Utah Bride & Groom magazine has been Utah’s leading source of inspiration and ideas for the discriminating bride and groom. From unique wedding resources and stunning fashion spreads to useful advice and the highest quality photography and printing, Utah Bride & Groom is not only a complete resource guide for the wedding couple, it is often treasured as a lovely keepsake commemorating a special time.
Insights and ideas about what brides really want to know are shared in a witty, friendly manner that celebrates this exciting life stage for couples. Our smart, funny, and even slightly irreverent approach to hosting the perfectly unique wedding has made Utah Bride & Groom magazine the most enduring and comprehensive statewide wedding publication and has been recognized nationally with awards and media publicity.
OUR TEAM

Val Rasmussen, Editor
With over 12 years in the wedding industry, Val Rasmussen is no stranger to bringing a bride's dream to reality. Prior to becoming editor, she owned an event floral design company—StellaPosy—that serviced couples in Salt Lake and Park City. Her designs were featured in several publications including Utah Bride & Groom magazine, Utah Style & Design magazine, and Inside Weddings magazine. She has traveled all over the U.S.—and even to wine country France—to attend the weddings of her close friends. She has a BS in Political Science from the University of Utah. While living in San Francisco, she worked as a recruiter in the tech industry before leaving the corporate world to design weddings at the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton. She currently calls Salt Lake City home and enjoys life with her husband and 2 little boys.

Jaime Winston, Web Editor
Jaime Winston is Web Editor for Salt Lake magazine, Utah Style & Design and Utah Bride & Groom. He’s also a feature writer for Salt Lake and contributes to the other two publications. Lately, he’s been busy planning his own wedding with his beautiful fiancée, Elise. Their journey has been documented in “The engaged man” blogs on this site. Elise was very understanding when Jaime performed eye-high kicks with the Radio City Rockettes and interviewed belly dancers, beauty queens and roller derby girls for the sake of journalism. He has also written for The Diversity Times, Magna Times, West Valley News and The Daily Utah Chronicle.

Cynthia Yeo, Web Production and Marketing Director
Cynthia Yeo, marketing and web production manager for Utah Bride & Groom, Salt Lake magazine and Utah Style & Design, spends the majority of her time updating websites, collecting contributor web stories, researching social media trends and directing the launch of the magazine's new website at utahbrideandgroom.com. Cynthia Yeo has a MBA in Marketing and is the former owner of Splendor In The Grass Floral. With over a decade of doing floral design for clients including Cuisine Unlimited and Bloomingsales, she loves bringing that same creative approach to the websites for the magazine.
“The new website was designed with the bride and groom in mind, we highlight what would be the most useful to them in a new beautiful fresh way. We wanted to give the readers the same experience on the web as they have reading the print publication,” says Yeo, who also works on sister publications Salt Lake magazine and Utah Style & Design, as well as JES Publishing's titles in Boca Raton, Fla. When she's not behind the desk, Cynthia can be found hiking the Wasatch Front with her dog Wren and remodeling her Sandy home with her husband Rob.

Amanda Pratt, Marketing & Events Manager
Coming from a marketing background of five years, Amanda loves working for Utah Bride & Groom magazine, Salt Lake magazine and Utah Style & Design. After studying Art and Modern Dance at Weber State University, she took time to travel and experience the beautiful outdoors by living in a tree house in Hawi, Hawaii for a summer and in the Grand Teton National Park for another two. After interning at Repertory Dance Theatre and honing her dance photography and design skills, she continued to do freelance photography and design before becoming our Marketing & Events Manager. Her destination wedding at Heceta Head Lighthouse on the coast of Oregon heightened her love of the bride and groom scene. She lives with her husband on Capitol Hill with a cat and a dog.

He ensures all publications at JES Publishing are on schedule, handles all the printing and maps out the pages of every issue. An avid soccer player and fan, he also snowboards, plays golf and volleyball. Damon lives in Sandy with his wife and two kids.

Bonnie Bell, Project Manager, contributing writer
Bonnie Bell keeps things straight in the nerdy, administrative side of our magazines . Whether the task is accounting, helping at an event, getting a project from A to Z, developing online content, or leaping 8 tier wedding cakes in a single bound, she will get the job done. Bonnie enjoys writing and graphic design. She ranks exercise right below living, breathing, and eating. She is that sweaty mess you see leaving the gym every night.
